The Moffat Tunnel Photograph Collection at the Colorado State Archives
The Moffat Tunnel Photograph Collection consists of two cubic feet of material documenting the Moffat Tunnel Commission's work from 1923 though 1927. This collection highlights daily living for the families of the workers, the technological innovations behind the Lewis Traveling Cantilever Girder, the sometimes harrowing work conditions for the employees, and a pictorial vision of the Moffat Tunnel experience. A sampling of this collection's holdings are available on-line through the links below. If you desire to view the collection in person or wish to have a print made of the photographs, please contact the Colorado State Archives.
In addition to these photographs the Archives has public relations scrapbooks (1912-1931) and photographs that are part of the Moffat Tunnel Commission Collection. Please contact the Colorado State Archives for access to this material.
