The following index was compiled from the official record of Land Record Fee Book filed in the Kit Carson County, District Court during these years. The information contained in the record generally shows the name of the homesteader, a legal description of the land, the amount of the fee, the date it was paid and for what purpose (i.e. application or final proof). 

An earnest effort was made to transcribe each name correctly. However, some of the handwritten entries were hard to read, making it difficult to ensure the spelling of a name is accurate. Please check similar or closely spelled names as this may help you in your search.  If you find a name on this list and would like a copy of that person’s record, please contact us.
