Agricultural enterprises have been showcased since the first exposition  was held on October 9, 1872, when the Southern Colorado Agricultural and Industrial Association held its first exhibition. The privately funded expositions were later supported by the state government through yearly State Fairs. This image is from a 1941 Colorado State Fair Souvenir Program and illustrates the importance of agriculture to the World War I effort.
