In 1979, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Sullivan donated to the State a collection of oil portraits of all of the United States Presidents. After circulating throughout the state for several years, the portraits were placed permanently in the Capitol and unveiled on Colorado Day, August 1, 1982. Mrs. Sullivan also provided a trust fund so that the portraits could be updated with each new administration in perpetuity. These portraits painted by Lawrence Williams can be viewed on the third floor rotunda.
