OWENS ANNOUNCES APPOINTEES TO STATE HOUSING BOARD

(DENVER) – Gov. Bill Owens today announced two appointments to the Colorado State Housing Board.

Owens appointed Sarah C. "Sally" Hatcher of Boulder and Theophilus D. Gregory of Colorado Springs.

"The State Housing Board was created nearly thirty-five years ago to help recommend sound housing codes and standards," said Owens. "Both of these appointees bring extensive experience and a long list of credentials to a board that has served Colorado well for so many years."

Sally Hatcher is the Co-Founder and President of Precision Photonics Corporation, a telecom company based on ultra-precise frequency measurement technology. Sally also served as Assistant Attorney General for the state of Colorado from 1998-2001.

Theophilus Gregory is currently the Associate Vice President/ Director of Outreach for the El Pomar Foundation based in Colorado Springs. He also serves as General Manager/ Executive on Loan for the Colorado Springs Sports Corporation.

The State Housing Board works to establish uniform construction and maintenance standards for hotels, motels, multiple dwellings and factory-built housing. The Board also develops for submittal to the general assembly and units of local government recommendations for uniform housing standards and building codes. Terms are four years. Appointees must be confirmed by the state Senate. The board consists of seven members.
