Executive Orders from the Administration of Governor Bill Owens 1999-2005

(DENVER) – Gov. Bill Owens today issued the following statement:

"I had been concerned that the Court might overturn Colorado's felony murder law. Instead, the Court reversed Lisl Auman's conviction based on a narrower point of law involving instructions to the jury. I believe that the felony murder law is an important statute and effective deterrent. It provides severe and appropriate penalties for those convicted of such heinous crimes against innocent victims."
