Anderson received a bachelor's degree in political from Colorado College and his juris doctorate from the University of Colorado School of Law. He previously served as a law clerk in the United States Attorney's Office and was an associate attorney with McElroy, Deutsch & Mulvaney.
His community service activities include serving on the board of directors for Colorado Ronald McDonald House, a "home away from home" for out-of-town families with children in Denver area hospitals. Anderson also serves on the board of Providers' Resources Clearinghouse, a non-profit that collects and redistributes goods to other area non-profits. He is a fifth generation Coloradan.
