(DENVER) - Justice O'Connor was recognized for her many politically-independent decisions as a jurist. She served the country well for nearly 25 years on the court.

Now begins a process that will have a lasting impact on the future of our country. When it comes time for President George Bush to fill Justice O'Connor's vacancy, all Americans should expect the Senate to give the president's nominee a thorough and timely review - followed by an up or down vote of the entire Senate.
