(DENVER) – Gov. Bill Owens today announced the appointment of Patricia B. Noyes of Boulder to the Board of Trustees for Fort Lewis College.
"Fort Lewis College, an innovative public liberal arts and sciences college, is among the state's top institutions of higher learning. The Board of Trustees plays a critical role in overseeing the activities of the college. I am confident that Patricia Noyes will offer positive guidance as the Board leads the College," Owens said.
Noyes serves as an international director for the Institute of Transportation Engineers, as a board member of the Transportation Research Board and is on the National Roster of Environmental Dispute Resolution and Consensus Building Professionals. She has extensive experience in public and private sector transportation planning and traffic engineering; organizational management consulting; public involvement process design and facilitation; and fire/rescue services. She operates Pat Noyes & Associates.
The Board of Trustees establishes policies and oversees the operation of the College. Terms are four years. Appointees must be confirmed by the state Senate. There are nine members, seven appointed by the Governor. No more than four of the members shall be from any one political party and no more or less than two shall be residents of southwestern Colorado. Noyes will serve as a Democrat appointee.
