Executive Orders from the Administration of Governor Bill Owens 1999-2005

DENVER - Gov. Bill Owens issued the following statement this afternoon regarding the vote by the Base Realignment and Closure Commission to close the DFAS facility in Denver.

"The decision is very disappointing. We felt that the state and city had made a very strong, unified presentation to the Commission. Overall, Colorado came out ahead with the additional personnel assigned to Fort Carson but the decision affecting the Denver area is unfortunate."
