OWENS ANNOUNCES APPOINTEE TO REAL ESTATE COMMISSION
(DENVER) - Gov. Bill Owens today announced the appointment of Charles P. Moore of Grand Junction to the Real Estate Commission.
"The Real Estate Commission is an indispensable body designed to mitigate financial loss to the public resulting from real estate fraud and theft," said Owens. "With his extensive experience in banking and real estate, Charles 'Buzz' Moore will be a valuable asset on this commission."
Moore was the president and managing broker for United Bank of Grand Junction/Norwest Banks, Inc. for nine years. During that time Moore was responsible for the growth, development and production of a workforce of 90 real estate broker associates in five sales offices on the Western Slope. Moore is a past president of the Grand Junction Area Association of Realtors, and currently serves as chairman for the Mesa County Regional Workforce Board and the Colorado Rural Workforce Consortium.
The Real Estate Commission regulates the licensing and conduct of real estate brokers and salespeople and pre-owned home warranty service companies. The commission consists of five members who serve three-year terms. The appointees do not require confirmation by the State Senate.
