OWENS APPOINTS FEELEY TO MESA STATE COLLEGE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
(DENVER) - Gov. Bill Owens today announced the appointment of Michael F. Feeley of Lakewood to the Board of Trustees for Mesa State College in Grand Junction. Mesa State College is a comprehensive, liberal arts college offering programs at the master, baccalaureate, associate degree and certificate levels.
"The Board of Trustees has a vital role in overseeing the activities of the college. Having worked with Mike in the legislature, I am confident he will serve the people of Colorado as a trustee of their interests, as well as the interests of Mesa State College," Owens said.
Feeley, an attorney with Baker & Hostetler LLP, served eight years in the Colorado Senate. He has a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Colorado and a law degree from the University of Denver.
Current trustee Jane D. North of Englewood also was reappointed to the board. Terms for both Feeley and North expire Jan. 1, 2010.
The Board of Trustees establishes policies and oversees the operation of the college. Appointees must be confirmed by the state Senate. There are 11 members.
