OWENS APPOINTS VERNE R. SAINT VINCENT TO
THE STATE BOARD OF PAROLE

(Denver) – Gov. Bill Owens today announced the appointment of Verne R. Saint Vincent of Elizabeth to the Colorado State Board of Parole.

"Ensuring the safety of Colorado citizens is our number-one priority," said Owens. "Verne Saint Vincent's extensive experience in law enforcement makes him a valuable addition to the Board of Parole."

Verne Saint Vincent has 32 years of experience in municipal law enforcement. He has also attended the FBI National Academy (1991) and the FBI National Executive Institute (1997). Saint Vincent is the president of the Colorado Police Protective Association.

The State Board of Parole is responsible for conducting hearings involving applications and revocations of parole. The seven members of the Board serve three-year terms and require Senate confirmation.
