"Ensuring the financial integrity of Colorado's banking institutions is of great importance to the economic well-being of the state," said Owens. "These new members bring valuable experience to the Board."

An attorney at Snell & Wilmer L.L.P., Brent D. Anderson's professional focus is commercial litigation. He is a member of the Colorado State Bar Association and the American Bar Association. Anderson is also a member of the Defense Research Institute. He volunteers as a teacher for the Junior Achievement program.

Dennis F. Reece is the president of the Citizens State Bank of Ouray. He has worked in the financial industry since 1969. Reece is the director of the Bank Holding Company and the Ouray Fire District. He is also a licensed real-estate appraiser and insurance agent. Reece sits on the Ouray Performing Arts Center Committee and the Ouray Budget Committee.

The Colorado Banking Board is the policy and rule-making authority for the division of banking. The Board has the authority to make all final decisions with respect to the taking of possession, liquidation, or reorganization of banks.

The nine members of the Board serve four-year terms and require Senate confirmation.
