OWENS APPOINTS TWO TO THE STATE CAPITOL BUILDING ADVISORY COMMITTEE
DENVER – Governor Bill Owens has appointed Barbara E. McTurk and C.W. Lee, both of Lakewood, to the State Capitol Building Advisory Committee.
McTurk was appointed to serve as a member of the public for a term expiring July 1, 2001. She has served as a board member for the Developmentally Disabled Resource Center and has also volunteered with the American Cancer Society.
Lee was appointed to serve as an architect for a term expiring July 1, 2002. Lee is the owner of Lee Architects in Denver. He received his bachelor’s degree in architecture from Texas Tech University. He is a member of the Colorado Chapter of the American Institute of Architects and the Denver Chapter of the American Institute of Architects.
The State Capitol Building Advisory Committee reviews, advises, and makes recommendations to the capitol development committee with respect to plans to restore, redecorate and reconstruct space within the public and ceremonial areas of the state capitol buildings group. The Committee consists of 12 members, four of whom are appointed by the Governor, who serve two-year terms and do not require Senate confirmation.
