OWENS APPOINTS BRENDA OHLSON TO TASK FORCE FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES
DENVER – Governor Bill Owens recently appointed Brenda Louise Ohlson of Lakewood to serve on the Governor’s Task Force for Persons with Disabilities.
Brenda Ohlson serves as co-chairman for the Medicaid Advisory Board for People with Disabilities. She attended Front Range Community College in Wheat Ridge.
The Governor’s Task Force for Persons with disabilities is comprised of an unlimited number of members who serve at the pleasure of the Governor and do not require Senate confirmation. The task force expires November 15, 2000.
The Governor’s Task Force for Persons with Disabilities explores ways to increase the effectiveness and coordination of boards, councils and commissions concerned with publicly funded services to persons with disabilities. The recommendations include consolidating and eliminating various boards and commissions better utilizing existing resources and eliminating duplication.
