OWENS APPOINTS HARVEY E. SWAN TO COLORADO MUNICIPAL BOND SUPERVISION ADVISORY BOARD
DENVER – Governor Bill Owens appointed Harvey E. Swan of Denver to the Colorado Municipal Bond Supervision Advisory Board.
Harvey Swan serves as the safety manager of the Denver Reception and Diagnostic Center for the Department of Corrections. He was the disaster preparedness specialist for the Department of Public Safety, Division of Disaster Emergency Service from 1990 to 1992 and the emergency management coordinator for the Department of Emergency Management for the City of Aurora from 1989 to 1990. Swan is a member of the board of directors for The Mile High United Way. He received his bachelor’s degree from Columbia College in Missouri.
The Colorado Municipal Bond Supervision Advisory Board is comprised of 15 members who serve four-year terms and do not require Senate confirmation. The board advises the securities commissioner on issues regarding the commissioner’s duties. These issues include development of policies, rules, orders, standards, guidelines, criteria and procedures regarding the registration of bond issues, ordinances, resolutions and applications for authorization to file bankruptcy petitions.
