OWENS APPOINTS JEANNIE G. REESER TO THE STATE BOARD FOR COMMUNITY COLLEGES AND OCCUPATIONAL EDUCATION
DENVER – Governor Bill Owens appointed Jeannie G. Reeser to the State Board of Community Colleges and Occupational Education for a term expiring in 2004.
Jeannie Reeser is the chief deputy treasurer for Adams County. She is currently a member of the National Association of County Treasurers and Finance Officers and serves on the Hispanic advisory committee for School District 12. Reeser previously served on the Colorado Student Loan advisory committee and served on the Colorado Commission on Higher Education advisory committee. She received her bachelor’s degree from Mount Saint Joseph.
The State Board for Community and Occupational Education is comprised of 11 members, nine of whom are appointed by the Governor. Members serve four-year terms and need Senate confirmation. The board governs the state community college system and is the coordinating board for local district colleges. It also regulates private vocational schools and coordinates activities for area vocational schools.
