OWENS APPOINTS MARY L. McNUTT TO THE STATEWIDE INDEPENDENT LIVING COUNCIL
DENVER – Governor Bill Owens recently appointed Mary L. McNutt of Grand Junction to the Statewide Independent Living Council.
Mary McNutt serves as the executive director of the Center for Independence in Grand Junction. She was a counselor and case manager for the Center for Independence from 1990 to 1991 and a rehabilitation specialist for Intermountain Specialist from 1987 to 1990. McNutt serves on the board of directors for Mesa State College Scholarships for Students with Disabilities. She received her master’s degree from Adams State College.
The Statewide Independent Living Council is comprised of 23 members who serve three-year terms and do not require Senate confirmation. The council works in partnership with Colorado Rehabilitative Services in planning independent living goals and priorities for the state.
