OWENS APPOINTS TWO NEW MEMBERS TO THE COLORADO STATE FAIR AUTHORITY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
DENVER – Governor Bill Owens appointed Dominic A. Lloyd of Denver and Gary L. Yourtz of Englewood to serve on the Colorado State Fair Authority Board of Commissioners.
Dominic Lloyd will serve as a representative of the First Congressional District. Lloyd is an attorney for Kutak Rock LLP in Denver. He currently serves on the board of directors for the South Metro Denver Chamber of Commerce, the Children’s Legacy and the Supporters of Children. Lloyd received his bachelor’s degree from Middlebury College.
Gary Yourtz will serve as a representative of the Sixth Congressional District. Yourtz serves as the regional vice president for Western Metals Recycling. He served as chair of the board of directors for The Bridge Project from 1996 to 1999 and on the advisory board of National Jewish Hospital from 1996 to 1997.
The Colorado State Fair Authority Board of Commissioners is comprised of 11 members, ten of whom are appointed by the Governor. Members serve four-year terms and require Senate confirmation.
The Colorado State Fair Authority Board of Commissioners directs and supervises the Colorado State Fair and Industrial Exposition. The Colorado State Fair is held annually in Pueblo to display the livestock and the agricultural, industrial, mining, recreational, educational and scientific products of Colorado.
