OWENS APPOINTS TWO NEW MEMBERS TO THE SECURITIES BOARD
DENVER – Governor Bill Owens recently appointed Paul E. Washington of Denver and Steven W. Palamar of Telluride to the Securities Board.
Paul Washington will serve as a licensed attorney conversant in securities law. He is an associate in the commercial group of Hogan & Hartson, LLP in Denver. Washington is on the board of directors for the Urban League of Metro Denver and is also on the board of governors for the Colorado Bar Association. He received his juris doctorate from the Boalt Hall School of Law at the University of California at Berkeley
Steven Palamar will serve as a member representing the public. He currently serves as the president of Telluride Financial Resources, Inc. Palamar is a member of the Telluride Association of Realtors. He served as the president for the Telluride Construction Loan Company, Inc. from 1994 to 1995. Palamar received his bachelor’s degree from Colorado College.
The Securities Board is comprised of five members who serve three-year terms and need Senate confirmation. The board aids and advises the securities commissioner in the promulgation of rules, issuance of orders, formulation of policies, setting of fees and other issues affecting the division of securities regulation.
