OWENS APPOINTS TWO NEW MEMBERS TO THE BOARD OF ASSESSMENT APPEALS

DENVER – Governor Bill Owens recently appointed Mark R. Linne of Bailey and Meredith McWilliams of Denver to serve on the Board of Assessment Appeals.

Mark Linne will serve as a member representing public employees experienced in property evaluation and taxation. He currently is the managing director for Rocky Mountain Valuation Specialists, LLC. Linne served as the executive vice president and the director of valuation services for the Valuation Research Corporation from 1991 to 1997. He also served on the board of directors for the Valuation Research Corporation from 1991 to 1997. Linne received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado at Denver.

Meredith McWilliams will serve as a member representing public employees experienced in residential appraisals. She currently is self-employed as a real estate appraiser. McWilliams serves on the board of realtors for Denver, Boulder and Pikes Peak. She received her bachelor’s degree from Cleveland State University.

The Board of Assessment Appeals is comprised of seven members who serve one-year terms and need Senate confirmation. It hears appeals filed by real and personal property owners on the valuation placed on their property.
