OWENS APPOINTS JOANNE HENDRICK TO THE STATE BOARD OF OPTOMETRIC EXAMINERS
DENVER – Gov. Bill Owens appointed Joanne Hendrick of Durango to the State Board of Optometric Examiners for a term expiring on April 15, 2004.
Joanne Hendrick will serve to represent optometrists. Hendrick operates Chapel Hills Vision Clinic, a private practice specializing in contact lenses. Prior to having her own practice, Hendrick was a general practitioner for Kaiser Permanente. Hendrick holds a doctorate degree from Pacific University College of Optometry.
The State Board of Optometric Examiners conducts examinations, prescribes rules and regulations for administering examinations and institutions hearings to revoke, suspend, deny or reissue licenses. The board consists of seven members who serve four-year terms and do not need Senate confirmation.
