OWENS APPOINTS TWO NEW MEMBERS TO THE MOTOR VEHICLE DEALER BOARD
DENVER – Gov. Bill Owens appointed Mark A. Striegnitz of Lakewood and Ray G. Knott of Westminster to the Motor Vehicle Dealer Board.
Mark A. Striegnitz will serve as a used motor vehicle dealer. Striegnitz is the president of Mark’s Auto Sales, Inc. in Denver and served as president of the Colorado Independent Automobile Dealers Association from 1996 to 1997. Striegnitz received his bachelor’s degree from Western State College in Gunnison, Colorado.
Ray G. Knott will serve as a member of the public. Knott is a retired police detective, and founder and director of the Riviera Owners Association -- International Car Club. Knott has also served as president of the Colorado Old Car Council.
The Motor Vehicle Dealer Board is authorized to promulgate, amend and repeal rules and regulations affecting automobile dealers. It sets provisions for the licensing and registration of dealers, establishes standards for professional conduct and the rendering of findings, orders and adjudications.
The board consists of nine members who serve three-year terms and do not need Senate confirmation.
