OWENS APPOINTS TWO NEW MEMBERS TO THE COLORADO COUNCIL ON THE ARTS
DENVER – Gov. Bill Owens appointed Patricia M. Dickinson of Montrose and Mary Ann Roldan of Pueblo to the Colorado Council on the Arts.
Patricia M. Dickinson serves as a board member of the Montrose Arts Council. She served as a member of the Montrose City Council from 1988 to 1996, three of those years was as the mayor of Montrose.
Mary Ann Roldan is state president of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society. She has served as president of the Mahatma Gandhi Center for Peace and Nonviolence and received her doctorate from the University of Northern Colorado.
The members of the Colorado Council on the Arts shall be broadly representative of the major fields of the arts and humanities. Members shall be appointed from among private citizens who are widely known for their competence and experience in connection with the arts and humanities, as well as knowledge of community and State interests.
The council consists of 11 members who serve three-year terms and do not need Senate confirmation.
