OWENS APPOINTS MARGUERITA D. YANCY TO THE STATE BOARD OF LICENSED PROFESSIONAL COUNSELOR EXAMINERS
DENVER – Gov. Bill Owens appointed Marguerita D. Yancy of Denver to the State Board of Licensed Professional Counselor Examiners for a term expiring on September 12, 2001.
Marguerita D. Yancy will serve as a member of the public. Yancy is the president and chief executive officer of Mothers and Daughters Inc., a non-profit organization. She is currently serving her second term as a member of the Denver Women’s Commission and is also a lifetime member of the Urban League of Metropolitan Denver.
The State Board of Licensed Professional Counselor Examiners adopts rules and regulations, conducts examinations and grants or denies licenses. All complaints are referred to the State Grievance Board.
The board consists of seven members who serve three-year terms and do not need Senate confirmation.
