OWENS APPOINTS GLADE R. HAMILTON TO THE STATE MEDICAL ASSISTANCE AND SERVICES ADVISORY COUNCIL
DENVER – Gov. Bill Owens appointed Glade R. Hamilton of Grand Junction to the State Medical Assistance and Services Advisory Council.
Glade R. Hamilton will serve as a nursing home administrator. He is the president of the Colorado Health Care Association and is a nursing home administrator for Larchwood Inns. Hamilton is retired from the U.S. Army and is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives. He holds a master’s degree from Baylor University in Waco, TX.
The State Medical Assistance and Services Advisory Council advises the Colorado Department of Human Services and the Colorado Board of Social Services on matters pertaining to Medicaid programs. It also examines matters brought before the council for review and recommendations.
The council consists of 16 members with 14 being appointed by the Governor. The member’s terms expire at the pleasure of the Governor and do not need Senate confirmation.
