OWENS APPOINTS MICHELE DRESSEL TO COLORADO HOUSING AND FINANCE AUTHORITY

DENVER – Governor Bill Owens appointed Michele Dressel of Glenwood Springs to the Colorado Housing and Finance Authority for a term expiring July 2001.

Michele Dressel serves as president of the Mortgage Division for Alpine Banks of Colorado. Dressel served as a member of the board of directors for the Eagle County Chamber of Commerce from 1996 to 1998, and served on the Affordable Housing Committee in Glenwood Springs in 1997. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder.

The Colorado Housing and Finance Authority acts as an agent for federal, state or local government or for qualified organizations or corporations in connection with the acquisition, construction, reconstruction, rehabilitation, leasing, operations or management of a housing facility or project or any part hereof or the furnishing or capital to business enterprises.

The authority consists of 11 members who serve four-year terms, nine of whom are appointed by the Governor with only eight needing Senate confirmation.
