DENVER Governor Bill Owens appointed Darcy M. Wilson-Parson of Denver and Allen E. Beall of Broomfield to the Minority Economic Development Council.
Darcy Wilson is chief executive officer for Stan Mar, Inc. Wilson-Parson is a member of the board for the African American Construction Council and president of the African American Women in Business. She serves on the diversity board for the Logan Center for Creative Learning.
Allen Beall is a project manager for Brunetti Associates, LLC. He worked as an electrical engineer for Hughes Information Technology/Raytheon from 1994 to 1998. Beall is a member of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers at the University of Colorado at Denver and served as its president from 1995 to 1996. He received his bachelors degree from the University of Colorado at Denver.
The Council serves as a resource to the Office of Economic Development on statewide minority business issues and provides a public forum at which the perspective of minority businesses can be brought to the attention of the state. It also makes recommendations for regulatory changes needed at all levels of government to encourage the initiation, stability and growth of minority businesses in Colorado.
