DENVER - Governor Bill Owens announced the appointment of two new members to the Colorado State Fair Authority Board of Commissioners: Michael G. Salardino of Pueblo and James E. Christiansen of Westminster.
"Both individuals bring a great deal of civic involvement and experience to their role on the board," said Gov. Owens.
Michael Salardino will serve as a representative of the county replacing Robert Jackson, who stepped down, for a term expiring November 1, 2001. Salardino is a financial consultant for Merrill Lynch and is vice president of the Pueblo Child Advocacy Center. He is also the assistant treasurer of the Boys and Girls Club of Pueblo and a member of the Pueblo Rotary Club.
James Christiansen will serve as a representative of the Second Congressional District for a term expiring November 1, 2002. Christiansen is a rancher and member of the Weld County Cattleman's Association. He is also a member of the Roundup Riders of the Rockies and the American Paint Horse Association.
The Colorado State Fair Authority directs and supervises the State Fair and Industrial Exposition. The Authority is comprised of 11 members, one of which is designated by the Commissioner of Agriculture, and the other 10 are appointed by the Governor. This year's Fair is August 21 through September 6.
