Integrated Document Solutions Distribution We know the U.S. Postal System. IDS Distribution (formerly Mail Services) is a work partner with the U.S. Post Office. We can assist state mailers in choosing the appropriate class of mail, obtaining maximum postage discounts, and preparing mail to meet Postal regulations. The experience gained from years of mailing is used to advise agencies on selecting envelopes, materials, printing, and Postal options that will obtain processing and postage efficiencies for state mailers. All Postal mailing options are available to our customers. Established permits for First Class, Presorted Standard, and Business Reply mail may be used by all state agencies. We process United Parcel Service (UPS) and Federal Express materials, and are integrated into their automated tracking systems. Scheduled pickup and delivery services are provided to more than 125 state agencies in the metro area. Printed materials from IDS reprographics units are delivered and outgoing mail is picked up at scheduled times. Daily mail from these offices is channeled through our Postal equipment and software to obtain postage discounts and processing efficiencies for our customers. We operate inserting equipment that can insert up to 5 documents into an envelope at a rate of 5,000 pieces per hour. A self-mailer system folds printed forms and seals them to create mail pieces without envelopes. An OCR/sorting system reads the addresses on mail produced by state offices and applies a Postal barcode to the envelope. Postage discounts of approximately 20% are accessed by this process. An ink jet addressing system prints addresses on materials to be mailed at a rate of 10,000 pieces per hour. Customers send their address files electronically to IDS, as attachments to e-mail. A Postal barcode is printed with the address to reduce postage cost.
