That’s why the Colorado State Patrol is actively ticketing drivers who tailgate, speed or drive aggressively around trucks. So give these large vehicles careful consideration when riding on the highway. It is your responsibility to drive the posted speed limit and to give ample room when approaching or passing commercial vehicles.
Trucks can’t see you if you’re by their side, especially the passenger side. Stay away from these blind spots and keep your distance.
When following, leave enough room to come to a complete safe stop, if needed. Never tailgate!
Trucks take much longer to stop. Stay well ahead and never, ever cut off a truck.
