COLORADO FIRST LADY JOINS THOUSANDS TO HONOR FIRST LADY OF GHANA
Colorado First Lady Jeannie Ritter joined Project C.U.R.E and almost 2,000 patrons on July 23 at the Hyatt Regency Denver at the Colorado Convention Center to welcome the First Lady of Ghana; Her Excellency, Mrs. Ernestina Naadu Mills. The Ghanaian First Lady was this year’s honored guest for Project C.U.R.E.’s fourth annual First Ladies’ Luncheon. The fundraising event is Project C.U.R.E.’s annual event to raise awareness about global healthcare needs and for stressing the need for on-going support of the delivery of life-saving medical supplies and equipment to medical professionals around the world.
“Project C.U.R.E., you are to be commended for the wonderful and very important work you continue to do,” said First Lady Jeannie Ritter while introducing the Ghanaian First Lady. “The Governor and I spent several years in Africa and we saw firsthand the suffering, as well as the impact of your work. And I am so very proud of Denver and Colorado for turning out the way you have today to support this organization and to honor such a deserving woman.”
Mrs. Naadu Mills will work with Project C.U.R.E to select healthcare facilities where the supplies and equipment are most needed. Colorado’s First Lady was joined by fellow co-chairs for the event, Susan Kiely of MillerCoors, former First Lady of Colorado Frances Owens and former First Lady of Denver Wilma Webb.
