COLORADO FIRST LADY HELPS 9HEALTH FAIR KICK OFF 30TH YEAR
First Lady Jeannie Ritter helped the 9Health Fair kick off their 30th year at a luncheon in downtown Denver at the Denver Athletic Club. More than 300 patrons were in attendance at the kick-off event, which doubled as a celebration of the many volunteers who work the 9Health Fair events.
"You just can't say enough about the selfless individuals who coordinate and volunteer to make this needed service available," said First Lady Ritter. "With such challenging times in our state and in our country, the 9Health Fair is needed now more than ever. Who would have thought 30 years ago that this simple idea would become the irreplaceable service they've become?"
The 9Health Fair's mission is to promote health awareness and to encourage individuals to assume responsibility for their own health by offering free and low-cost health screenings and education. The official start of the 2009 health fair is April 18-26, 2009.
