The Division of Gaming Training Program is coordinated by Mark Distel in the Lakewood office. The training program is available to Colorado casinos for any specific training the casino would like to have the Division provide. The classes available include, but are not limited to, blackjack and/or poker Internal Control training, blackjack and/or poker supervisors training, cashier training, accountant training, slot department training, etc. A description of the training and meetings presented by the training program appears below. TRAININGS OFFERED

 

Slot Tech Meetings
Restricted to licensees who work in casino slot departments and for slot machine manufacturer/distributors. Not open to the general public for security reasons.

 

Security Meetings
Restricted to licensees who work in casino security and surveillance. Not open to the general public for security reasons.

 

Table Games Meetings
Industry wide semiannual meetings combining topics related to traditional poker, blackjack, and house-banked poker. Location rotates between the three Division of Gaming offices. Not open to the general public for security reasons.

 

Internal Compliance Officers Meetings
Restricted to licensees who work in internal compliance. Not open to the general public for security reasons.

 

Cashier Cage Meetings
Restricted to licensees who work in casino cages, management and others approved by management. Not open to the general public for security reasons.

 

Manager on Duty Training
Classes for Key license employees that work as casino floor managers.

 

New Licensee Orientation (Duties and Responsibilities)
Classes covering the Statement of Understanding in detail, the investigator's presence in the casinos and general licensee requirements. Geared for new licensees but a great refresher for any employee that has changed job locations.

 

Follow the Coin Training
Training that follows the coin and bill from the point at which they are inserted into the machine to the point where the related gaming impact appears on the statistical reports. Designed for individuals that are not familiar with slot machines and/or accounting reports.

 

Patron Identification Cards
Classes on identifying fraudulent IDs.
