Non-Emergent Medical Transportation (NEMT) is transportation to and/or from Medicaid medical appointments or services, and is only available when a client has no other means of transportation.

NEMT Updates
Effective January 1, 2012 First Transit became the NEMT contractor for nine counties: Arapahoe, Adams, Boulder, Broomfield, Denver, Douglas, Jefferson, Larimer and Weld. The below update only pertains to providers and clients in those counties. The process remains the same for all other counties.
We have heard from clients who have had difficulty with the First Transit phone system. A client letter, transportation provider letter and medical provider letter have been issued by First Transit regarding the long wait times and the steps they have taken to address issues raised.
If you have had problems with First Transit's services we want to hear from you. We have been working with them to address issues you have raised and want to hear about your experiences with their services.
