License Plates
Colorado requires that all vehicles display valid license plates. Colorado has both standard and special plates available. Many plate styles can be personalized. For more information and images of plates within each category, please click the category's thumbnail image, the underlined plate name or the categories listed to the left of the page.
License plates that are no longer registered to a vehicle should be surrendered to your County Motor Vehicle Office for Proper destruction and recycling. License plates should not be sold, given to another person/entity, or used for any purpose except to evidence the vehicle registration.
