CDC Heath Advisory Alert

On November 27th, 2012, the CDC released an official Health Advisory alerting the public to a rising national concern related to the misuse of pesticides for bed bug control. Please refer to the attached link for the full article.  http://emergency.cdc.gov/HAN/han00336.asp

The Colorado Department of Agriculture, Division of Plant Industry is the regulatory authority in the State of Colorado and regulates all pesticide use in the state; as authorized in Title 35, Article 10, the Pesticide Applicators’ Act.

The Department is passing along this CDC Health Advisory to remind the public that care should be taken when applying these products to control bed bug infestations.  However, if you believe that a misapplication of pesticides has or is occurring when a bed bug pest control application is being performed, please contact the Colorado Department of Agriculture’s, Pesticides Enforcement Program at 303-239-4151 to report any possible misuse or violations of the Pesticide Applicators’ Act.

Thank you,
