  • 6 - 15' tall; spreads by rhizomes.
  • Forms dense thickets in or near water.
  • Blooms July to October.
  • Flowers feathery & drooping; can appear silvery or purplish.
  • Leaves blue-green, flat, smooth.
  • Native species of Phragmites also exist in Colorado.
