The Estes Park Police Department provides service to the Town of Estes Park and the surrounding Estes valley. The population of Estes Park is estimated at 6,000 with a total valley estimate of 12,000 people.
Each patrol officer patrols the town limits of Estes Park but is also assigned to a neighborhood zone, or area, in which they are responsible for assisting with ongoing quality of life issues, non-emergencies and daily calls for service. The officer sets up neighborhood meetings and coordinates with other departments to establish good working relationships and find solutions to ongoing problems.
Police Officers work several special events throughout the year to include all parades and festivals. They have the ability to work on bike or Segway.
The Patrol division consists of one Commander, two Patrol Sergeants and 12 patrol Officers. In addition to patrol, EPPD employs a School Resource Officer, one Professional Standards Sergeant and two investigators. Police services are accessible 24 hours a day, seven days a week by calling Dispatch at 970-586-4000 for non-emergencies and 911 for emergencies.
The Police Department provides assistance to the Larimer County Sheriff's Department, Colorado State Patrol, Colorado Division of Wildlife and Rocky Mountain National Park as requested by each agency.
