ROLLOVER NEAR CRIPPLE CREAK RESULTS IN FATALITY
The Colorado State Patrol is investigating a crash that occurred early this morning (May 6th,
2013). At approximately 0405 this morning a red 1998 Pontiac Firebird crashed on Teller County
Road 1, milepost 2, or about 2 miles north of the town of Cripple Creek. As the roadway traveled
down a grade and to the right, the Firebird traveled off the left side of the roadway for
approximately 60’, rolling onto its roof in the process. The vehicle was driven by Kyle Fishencord
(Age 24, Cripple Creek). Fishencord was the only occupant of the vehicle at the time of the crash.
He was not believed to be wearing his seat belt during the crash and was partially ejected.
Fishencord was pronounced deceased at the scene. Alcohol is suspected to have contributed to the
crash, and it is unknown at this time as to whether drugs were involved.
