The Colorado State Patrol (CSP or the Patrol) is dedicated to increasing traffic safety throughout Colorado. With its focus on reducing fatal and injury crashes across the state, the Patrol focuses on traffic enforcement: reducing aggressive driving that causes crashes; preventing drivers under the influence of alcohol or drugs from causing accidents; and enforcing the seatbelt and child restraint laws that help save lives.
The Traffic Safety portion of our website is dedicated to providing access to the Patrol's traffic statistics; we do not have statewide accident or citation statistics, only statistics for Patrol activity.
Statistics can be found at the following pages:
For statewide traffic statistics contact:
The Colorado Department of Revenue Motor Vehicle Division:
The Colorado Department of Transportation
In addition, the Patrol tracks enforcement activity using a combination of mile markers and road codes for state and interstate highways; we do not track activity on specific county roads or intersections. For more specific information regarding crashes at a specific intersection or on a specific county road, contact:
Your county's Traffic Engineering Office
Your county's Sheriff's Office
Your municipal law enforcement agency office (in incorporated areas)
These statistics provide an overview of traffic safety in Colorado; for more specific information contact the Patrol directly at (303) 239-4500 and your request will be directed to the proper department.
