License Plates Effective January 1, 2012

World War II Veteran- The World War II Veteran military license plate may be issued to a person who was a member of the United States Armed Services between September 16, 1940 and July 25, 1947. This license plate is issued to passenger cars, trucks, motorcycles, and noncommercial or recreational motor vehicles that do not exceed 16,000 pounds. Issuance of the World War II Veteran plate will be exempt from the one-time and replacement $25.00 Highway User Tax Fund fee for the first set of plates per applicant. Applicants must complete the DR 2432 Fallen Service Member& World War II License Plate Application on or after January 1, 2012.
 

Craig Hospital- The Craig Hospital special license plates requires a donation of $20.00 to Craig Hospital for authorization to be issued the plate. Craig Hospital may be contacted at www.craighospital.org. Craig Hospital special license plates are issued to passenger cars, trucks that do not exceed sixteen thousand pounds empty weight, noncommercial or recreation vehicles, motor homes and motorcycles. Craig Hospital special license plates may be personalized by completing the DR 2810 Personalized License Plate Application form on or after January 1, 2012. A one-time fee of $50.00 for issuance or replacement in addition to other taxes and fees apply.

 

Colorado Avalanche- The Colorado Avalanche special license plates requires a donation of $45.00 to Kroenke Sports Charities for authorization to be issued the plate. The Colorado Avalanche may be contacted at www.pepsicenter.com/AvsLicensePlate. Colorado Avalanche special license plates are issued to passenger cars, trucks that do not exceed sixteen thousand pounds empty weight, noncommercial or recreation vehicles, motor homes and motorcycles. Colorado Avalanche special license plates may be personalized by completing theDR 2810 Personalized License Plate Application form on or after January 1, 2012. A one-time fee of $50.00 for issuance or replacement in addition to other taxes and fees apply.

 

Denver Nuggets- The Denver Nuggets special license plates requires a donation of $45.00 to Kroenke Sports Charities for authorization to be issued the plate. The Denver Nuggets may be contacted at www.pepsicenter.com/NuggetsLicensePlate. Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation- The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) special license plates are issued to passenger cars, trucks that do not exceed sixteen thousand pounds empty weight, noncommercial or recreation vehicles, motor homes and motorcycles. JDRF special license plates may be personalized by completing the DR 2810 Personalized License Plate Application form on or after January 1, 2012. A one-time fee of $50.00 for issuance or replacement in addition to other taxes and fees apply.

 

Girl Scouts- The Girl Scouts special license plates are issued to passenger cars, trucks that do not exceed sixteen thousand pounds empty weight, noncommercial or recreation vehicles, motor homes and motorcycles. Girl Scouts special license plates may be personalized by completing the DR 2810 Personalized License Plate Application form on or after January 1, 2012. A one-time fee of $50.00 for issuance or replacement in addition to other taxes and fees apply.

 

Taxicab- The Taxicab license plate is issued to a person providing Taxicab service authorized by the Public Utilities Commission. The Taxicab license plate may be issued to passenger vehicles, adult buses, trailer coaches, or multi-purpose trailers. The taxicab license plate may be personalized by completing the DR 2810 Personalized License Plate Application form on or after January 1, 2012.
