Driver's License Offices Closed Sept. 7-8
Colorado Driver's License offices will be closed on Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2009, due to a furlough of state workers.
The Colorado Division of Motor Vehicles will not process applications for driver's licenses and ID cards. In addition, the Division staff will not be available to address issues related to restraints on driver's licenses.
Driver's license offices will close early the rest of the week - Wednesday, Sept. 9, through Friday, Sept. 11. The diminished hours are necessary to avoid overtime payments to workers during a furlough week. Citizens needing driver's license services on those days should plan to arrive early in the day.
Sept. 8, 2009, is the first of four furlough days for state workers before the end of the year. The other scheduled furlough days are Friday, Oct. 9; Friday, Nov. 27; and Thursday, Dec. 31.
