Brenda Berlin joined OIT in 2009 as the Office's Controller. As the Chief Financial Officer, Brenda leads the Financial Services Unit and is responsible for the accounting, budgeting, vendor management, and procurement activities of the Office. She also directs the financial strategy to help ensure the success of OIT’s operations and initiatives.
Brenda has over 16 years experience in Colorado state government, including 9 years in key financial positions related to information technology. As OIT's Controller, she assisted in developing and implementing a strong financial framework, new rate methodologies for IT service offerings, and strategized on IT consolidation activities for the state. Before joining OIT, Brenda was the Controller for the Department of Personnel & Administration and spent eight years at the Office of the State Auditor as a financial and performance auditor.
Brenda has Bachelor of Science degrees in Accounting and Marketing, is a Certified Public Accountant, and is a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Colorado Fiscal Managers Association, and the Colorado Information Managers Association. Brenda serves as the Treasurer for the Board of Directors for the Mapleton Education Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to raising scholarship funds to help improve access to post-secondary education for high school students, and is an active member of the Girl Scouts of Colorado.
