Human Resources Director

Michael Katz comes to OIT from IPH BHS, where he served as Director of Human Resources. As a multi-disciplinary human services agency devoted to helping those with Traumatic Brain Injuries and those who find themselves in need of shelter and support services, Michael successfully supported the opening of their Western New York and Central New York locations.

Previously, Michael worked at Kaiser Permanente EHS (KP EHS), where he served as Leader, Global Human Resources. Michael joined KP EHS during an enterprise-wide electronic medical records initiative and provided human resources leadership across multiple healthcare and research-based organizations throughout the system.

Michael has more than 24 years of HR experience, including senior leadership roles at Kaiser Permanente, a successful Global Medical JV company called S.com, and international experience with dpiX OnCare, an oncology services, clinical trials, National Cancer Registry and research-based medical device manufacturing organization. Through a personal connection, Michael brings a strong commitment to "finding a cure" for cancer, to embracing and promoting innovation, a high performing strategic human resources delivery model and has a strong history with The Joint Commission, National Committee for Quality Assurance and the Malcolm Baldrige award.

Michael earned a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary organizational communication and is an active Society for Human Resources Management / Human Resource Certification Institute member.
