Todd Olson has served Colorado since 1994 and has brought the Governor's Office an extensive background in technology, finance, and management. Todd has been an integral part of Colorado's initiative to consolidate and transform information technology operations. In 2007, he was recruited by the Governor's Office of Information Technology (OIT) to help direct a myriad of consolidation activities while continuing to serve as the Director of the Division of Information Technologies, the then service organization responsible for providing information technology services to the state enterprise. These services included enterprise applications, telecommunication services, data center operations and public safety radio operations.
Todd combines an information technology background with strong financial expertise to produce impressive results. In 2008, he assumed the role of OIT's Chief Operating Officer (COO), managing the strategic and operational direction of the State's information technology infrastructure as well as all of the related financial activities. As COO, he developed and implemented the necessary support infrastructure for the newly consolidated organization and the related financial controls for all state agencies. In 2009, after OIT matured, Todd assumed the role as Chief Financial Officer and was responsible for the consolidation and optimization of information technology investment in the State. In 2013, Todd was appointed to his current role the Executive Director, IT Innovation Effort - or I2E. Through his tenure, Todd has successfully demonstrated his ability to build high-performance teams and lead sophisticated service organizations.
A Certified Public Accountant and Certified Information Systems Auditor (not-active), Todd holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in accounting and computer systems. Todd is a member of Colorado's Technology Association, Communications Technology Professionals, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the Colorado Society of Certified Public Accountants.
