Chief of Staff

  Dara Hessee, Chief of Staff

Krista Welch has been serving as OIT’s Chief of Staff since April 2013. As the Chief of Staff, she leads the continuous development of a best-in-class Organizational Development and Organizational Effectiveness strategy, including change management, to drive cost savings and innovation as well as strengthen organizational performance and resilience in a more complex and ever-changing environment. Krista helps to manage and facilitate the Executive Leadership Team and serves as an ambassador of the Chief Information Officer (CIO) in the organization and across the state, representing the CIO’s vision and perspective on a range of issues. She also keeps a pulse on the organization, providing consultation and guidance to the executive leaders. Krista facilitates Strategic Planning throughout the organization and ensures execution of the strategy along with operational service delivery through organizational performance measurements such as a Balanced Scorecard and Operations Reviews.

 

Krista has 20 years experience in Organizational Development, Organizational Effectiveness and HR leadership and consulting. She developed her expertise working in Fortune 500 companies such as The Walt Disney Company, The Clorox Company and Sun Microsystems, as well as the federal government, consulting for both the USPS and GSA headquarters in Washington, D.C. During her tenure in these roles she created multiple management and leadership development programs, developed an HRIS that was sold to a major national consulting firm and a created a proprietary workforce capacity planning system that was utilized to justify labor budgets on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. Additionally, Krista conducted change management, communications and training efforts for several large scale SAP implementations. These experiences have prepared her to guide organizations to grow and mature into high-performing organizations.

 

Krista holds a master’s degree in Human Resources Design from the Claremont Graduate University and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Arizona State University. She also lives in Boulder County with her husband and son.
