October is Cyber Security Awareness Month

Nat'l Cyber Security Awareness Month Logo

On average, there are one million victims of cyber-crime across the globe every day - making it more important than ever to know how to stay safe online. The Governor's Office of Information Technology in partnership with the Colorado Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, READYColorado,  the Army National Guard, and Regis University are sponsoring several free events throughout October to help educate the public on ways they can protect themselves from cyber security threats.

  • Daily cyber security tips are being sent out with the hashtag #COCyberHelp
  • A call-in line will be available on Saturday, October 18, 2014 from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm to answer questions.  Call 303.964.6848 or 1.800.388.2366, extension 6848.
  • Outreach events will be held at several area schools (DPS, Adams & Aurora) to help "tweeners" and teens understand how their social media, computer, and SmartPhone use can impact their security and privacy.
