LT. GOV. O'BRIEN HELPS RECOGNIZE HEALTHY SCHOOLS
Lt. Gov. Barbara O'Brien today helped Education Commissioner Dwight Jones and the Colorado Legacy Foundation announce new healthy school guidelines and honor schools that have healthy programs.
"Colorado may be the leanest state in the nation, but more than a quarter of our children are overweight and obese. There is a strong link between healthy kids and learning, so it's a natural that schools have a role in teaching healthy habits. Congratulations to the Legacy Foundation for putting together these important best practices and honoring the people who are doing something about it," said Lt. Gov. O'Brien.
